Seasons of Earth

October's reds have turned yellow, then brown My eyes grow dim, colors float to the ground.

I think of beauty, the seasons of Earth As gold and silver I count their worth.

With fervent anticipation I await the return Of green and flower colors in my eyes to burn.

The love of nature is so very strong My soul can hardly wait that long.

When cold months pass and clear the bough My heart will surge as sprouts break through.

The heart swells when seeing the first leaf Into a new season my whole being does leap.

Somewhere deep inside me a light bursts forth Knowing this season will show me life's worth.
