- J. Burnell Crabbs, former resident
- of Berea, died June 13 at Otterbein
- Home in Lebanon, Ohio. He was 89.
- He is survived by his wife,
- Lucille (nee Debolt); son, the Rev.
- Richard Crabbs; daughters, Carolyn
- Jean Luna and Gwenlyn Jo Cook; 11
- grandchildren and eight great- grand-
- children.
- Mr. Crabbs served as mayor of
- Berea from 1964-’65. He taught at Berea
- High School for 34 years, retiring
- in 1961. He was a teacher, coach and
- principal during that time.
- The family suggests memorial
- contributions be made to the Otterbein
- Home Endowment Fund, N. State
- Route 741, Lebanon, Ohio, 45036.
- Services were held June 15 at the
- Otterbein Home Chapel. The Rev. Richard
- Crabbs and the Rev. William McOmber
- officiated. Burial was at Eastview
- Cemetery, Centerburg, Ohio. Oswald-
- Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon, handled
- the arrangements.
