Tom Frank Barnum

A long-time resident of Strongsville, Tom was Chamber Trustee and served as the group’s president in 1998 and 1999. He and his wife Joan have served as managers of the food tent at the Strongsville Homecoming.

He has been a member of the City Club and served a second term as president of that organization.

Barnum also volunteered each year at the Strongsville Historical Society’s Annual Harvest Festival and the City Club’s Breakfast on the Bridge.

He was also a leader and very active at St. John Neumann Church.

In 2004 Barnum was named CitiSun of the Year for The Sun Star Newspaper. He was nominated for the prestigious newspaper award by former Strongsville Mayor Dale R. Finley, who in his nominating letter said Barnum is “a many faceted person who began his volunteerism in the early 70s. Tom Barnum exemplifies what volunteerism is all about.”

Tom was employed as a sales executive for major accounts at North Coast Business Systems. He served as chairman of the Strongsville City Club's annual rib burnoff. Tom is survived by his wife Joan, daughters Beth, Lynn, Jill, and Jodi.
